PacMaps Application Support
The GPS function of PacMaps may be inaccurate with devices other than the iPhone 3G and later iPhone models. To use the GPS function, take the device within the limits of the map and click the GPS button in the top left corner. Be patient as the device tracks your current location... remember, it's going to space! It takes, on average, about 15 - 45 seconds to get your accurate position. If you are indoors, it is unlikely the device will be able to get an accurate enough position to display on the map.
To zoom within our maps, use two fingers to pinch the map.
When you press the "Find" button on a map, you are given a collasible list of locations, sorted by category. If you press the "Map All" button in the top right corner, all locations within the open category will be mapped. Once mapped, you can see the title of each location by simply pressing the blue marker for it. If you would like more information on that particular location, you can press the blue button to the right of the title bar.
If you press the "Map All" button while a large category is open with many locations in it, the map will perform slower than usual. Take care to stop the GPS if it is in use before mapping several locations at one time as this can considerably slow the map performance. To stop the GPS function, simply press the same top left button that started it.
Using the GPS feature on maps can take away battery power, which is why PacMaps allows you to stop the GPS once you're finished locating or tracking your current position. After pressing the GPS button in the top left corner, the application will locate your current position and continue to track you. To stop this, simply press the button again and last known position will be shown as an orange marker on the map.
